Scheduling in Their Pocket

Answering mobile-app questions

Do employees need to download an app?

No. Blue Roster is web-based and works from any device with a browser. Employees open a link, set a password once, and can view their schedule, accept open shifts, request time off and swap shifts. For a frontline workforce this removes the rollout problem entirely — there is no app store step, no device policy, and nothing to keep updated.

What can employees do from their phone?

View their schedule with hours, location and supervisor; accept open shifts and overtime; request and track time off; update availability; and request or accept shift swaps. Every action is validated against your rules before it takes effect, so self-service does not become a coverage risk.

How do employees find out about schedule changes?

Changes reach people through notifications rather than depending on someone checking a noticeboard or a group text reaching everyone. The schedule they see is the current one by construction, not a printed version that became wrong at some point.

Does it work for employees without a company device?

Yes. Because it runs in a standard browser, it works on personal phones without requiring device management or a company-issued device — which is usually the practical requirement for a deskless workforce.
