Schedule by Skill and Certification
Answering skills-certifications questions
How does Blue Roster track certifications?
Each employee record holds the certifications, licenses and skills that person carries, along with the expiry date for each. Each role carries the credentials it requires. Assignments are validated against both, so qualification is checked by the system rather than remembered by a person.
What happens when a certification expires?
The person stops being eligible for shifts requiring that credential, automatically and on the date. This is the part a spreadsheet cannot do: the risk window is not the expiry itself but the days or weeks between lapsing and anyone noticing, and that window closes to zero.
Which certifications can be tracked?
Any credential you define, including RN licenses, BLS, ACLS, OSHA training, forklift and equipment certifications, and internal sign-offs specific to your operation. The system does not distinguish between regulatory and internal requirements; both are rules about who may work a shift.
Can we produce a list of who is certified for what?
Yes, in seconds, including the state of credentials on any given past shift. During an audit this is usually the difference between answering a question and reconstructing an answer.
