Gantt Views

Updated: Feb 1
The Goal of this section is to gain a comprehensive, visual understanding of your facility’s operations. The Gantt section translates data into a color-coded timeline, allowing you to see exactly who is working where and what is being produced.

The Gantt section is your "Eye in the Sky." While the Action Center is for making changes, the Gantt views are for analysis and projection. It is divided into two distinct perspectives: the Projection Schedule (focused on people) and the Production Schedule (focused on work).
The Projection Schedule (People View)
This view tracks individual employee assignments over time. It is the primary tool for checking coverage and verifying attendance patterns.
The Gantt Color Code:
Blue (Standard): A regular, straight-time shift.
Green (Overtime): Additional hours assigned to an employee.
Red (Time Off): Approved vacation, sick leave, or personal time.
Purple (Shift Swap): Indicates two employees have traded their shifts.
Use Case: If a supervisor needs to know how many people are on vacation next Tuesday to decide if they can approve another request, they check the Projection Schedule.
The Production Schedule (Workload View)
This view shifts the focus from "Who" to "What." It displays the planned production runs (SKUs) across different departments and places.
Key Features:
SKU Tracking: See exactly when a product run (e.g., "Original Biscuits") is scheduled to start and end.
Non-Productive SKUs: It also shows general workloads, such as "Clean-up" or "Team Lead" shifts, which aren't tied to a specific product but are necessary for operations.
Gap Visualization: It displays the planned workload for a department, helping you spot if two high-labor SKUs are scheduled simultaneously at the same location.
Navigation & Tooling
The Gantt interface is designed to be highly interactive to help you find information quickly:
Date Navigation: Use the calendar picker to jump to any date in the past (to review history) or the future (to plan staffing).
Zooming:
Zoom In: See the minute-by-minute details of a specific shift.
Zoom Out: View the entire month to see long-term staffing trends.
Filtering: Filter by Department or Place to declutter the screen and focus on a specific production line.
Hover Detail: Hover your cursor over any bar on the Gantt chart to see a pop-up with the employee's name, the specific position title, and the exact start/end times.
Pro-Tips for Using Gantt Views
Verification: Always check the Production Schedule after running a new Workload. If the SKUs appear correctly there, you know the "Red Holes" have been generated in the Action Center.
Identify Burnout: By looking at the Projection Schedule, you can easily spot employees with too many "Green" (Overtime) blocks in a row, helping you manage fatigue and safety.
Historical Review: If there was a production error last Thursday, use the Gantt chart to see exactly who was assigned to that position at that specific time.
